The AntiC really really wishes we could stop wasting our time posting about Rv. Phelps. But he is such a dispicable reprehensible human being that we have little choice. The reason he is so dangerous is clear: his one issue of vile and spew resonates in America.
On the same day that Phelps released his "Thank God for Katrina" effort espousing the belief that the Horsemen will ride because of New Orleans debauchery and homosexuality, Cali Gov. Swartzeneggar vows he will veto a same-sex marriage bill for purely political reasons. But Phelps isn't alone in his hatred of New Orleans. There's an increasing sense of justification going on among the uber conservative Christian sects in America- that because of New Orleans debauchery they deserved what they got. Consider Repent America's release on Aug. 31. This is an interesting issue- as the conservatives take a line of punishing the victims or blaming them, they also strike a Santorum chord of cultural corrosion based on homosexual partying.
I'm disgusted by this. GS is in serious mourning for New Orleans- the waves of pain strike me deeply, randomly, through the day. They are debilitating and horrifying depressions; moments of fear and unmitigated worry. I don't have any interest in buying this line of shit from these guys while I mourn.
But somebody is.
