Fight the Pandemic

Our Thoughtful President has worked everything out. Americans, heed the advice of The Administration: They are thinking ahead, solving the oncoming crises before they begin. The President has worked out a solution for the potential avian flu pandemic which could be globally devastating if the current genetic structure shifts even slightly:

Military Intervention.

That's right, folks, the President thinks that we should be prepared to intervene militarily amid the pandemic, if and when it strikes. A War on Epidemics next...? Certain other governments are investing in prevention; but I suppose that given the opportunity for a preemptive military strike against avian flu, we'll consider it...

Note: Bush's comments here are the seeds of simple quarantine tactics, and are no-brainers when it comes to managing an epidemic crisis of a large scale. Anybody who does not think there's a military role in case an entire community must be quarantined is an idiot. The question is what is the American government doing to provide security and healthcare for Americans well in advance of an epidemic such as the potential avian flu strains? What are the provisions that they've already worked out? What are all branches of government doing for us? If, at the highest levels of our government, the only thing they can consider in this stratagem is a military role, we are all going to die. If their concept of maintaining the health of Americans with the amount of time they've had to develop some social strategy or plan relies solely on the military, count us out.
