On the Ground in New Orleans
Bush's third trip to New Orleans began yesterday. This time, amidst excrutiatingly low Presidential approval ratings, Bush and Co. decided he should descend from the heavens and walk the earth.
[On his first flyover, he said, with typical moronic comprehension: "It's devastating, it's got to be doubly devastating on the ground."]

"The storm didn't discriminate, and neither will the recovery effort," Bush said. "When those Coast Guard choppers -- many of whom were first on the scene -- were pulling people off roofs, they didn't check the color of a person's skin, they wanted to save lives. And so the Bush PR machine moves forward. The Administration and legislature cronies continue to deny the need for a non-partisan committee to understand the failures of the response.
"I can assure people ... that this recovery is going to be comprehensive. The rescue efforts were comprehensive, and the recovery will be comprehensive."
