Democrats and Rove

As the Brits report over at the BBC, "US Democrats" have started the ramp-up of their language against Karl Rove and his outing as the source of Valerie Plame.
"The lessons of history for [US President] George Bush and Karl Rove is that the best way to help themselves is to bring out all the facts, on their own, quickly," said New York Senator Charles Schumer.

Senate Minority leader Harry Reid said he hoped President Bush would follow through on a pledge to sack anyone involved in leaking the agent's name.
It's interesting that Schumer invokes the spirit of governmental transparency as a historical precendent, because The Administration is far from living a life of transparency, shown in their 9/11 Commission stonewalling, or their 5 year doubling of the rate of document classification.

And why does Schumer call for transperancy? Because he is calling for governmental Accountability. And why does The Administration deny that same transperency, time and time again?

Because they refuse to be held Accountable.
