Footprints

The Times covers the new UN Environment Program's publication of a new atlas, One Planet, Many People. The atlas shows satellite images of popular regions of the world taken within the last couple years and compares them to images taken in the 1970's or 80's of the same areas. It is pretty sobering to see such drastic changes occuring over just one generation, such as China's Yellow River delta which has sprouted a dramatic penninsula into the sea due to the amount of construction sediment that development upstream created. Check 'em out.
