Good Guys

Over at Digby, there's a nice showing of the Good Guys vs. the Bad Guys down at Crawford; increasingly the center of the ideological conflict at the center of the Iraq war in America.

But listen, Sheehan and co: "This is Texas," Okay? One of Bush's neighbors fired a shotgun into the air, because he was "fed up" with the protests:
Sheriff’s deputies and Secret Service agents in the area of the demonstration site Sunday rushed to the home of Larry Mattlage after the shots were fired but did not arrest him.

“I ain’t threatening nobody, and I ain’t pointing a gun at nobody,” Mattlage said. “This is Texas.”
And in Texas, he was getting ready for "dove season."

The Administration doesn't need Rove/Libby style leakage when they can just as easily have neighborly intimidation.

I want to point out to Tex there that no, this is not Texas, okay, this is America. And if you want to bitch and growl about your independent spirit then go off and whine it out. The rest of us have a country to sort out. And right now that country is split in half. "This is Texas"- this attitude of isolationist and closed-minded chosen ignorance is the thing that stuck our country in this war; until you figure out how to help get us out of it, then our sympathy for your inconvenience is minimal.
