His biggest public relations coup was a conference he organized in Washington last month titled "Confronting the Judicial War on Faith." The event attracted considerable media attention and featured DeLay via video calling for Congress to "reassert our constitutional authority over the courts."

"He [Scarborough] has made himself a major player," says Rob Boston, of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, who has tracked Scarborough's career for years.

Using politics as a way to buttress individual egoism as a method of creating a cult of personality [some would say, why exactly does a religious leader care so much about judicial filibusters...]...?
