Intergenerational Stress

According to this BBC article, there has been physical evidence of elevated levels of stress hormone cortisol in children whose mothers witnessed the 9/11 attacks.

This is only physical evidence of a common sense concept: that severely stressful events and situations effect through generational lines and have residual effect for many generations to come. Of course, many other cultures have dealt with (and are continuing to deal with) these kinds of intergenerational scars. It's simply a matter of recognition and awareness that America needs to come to terms with.
