Unbelievable Chaos

This Crisis is our country.

This is the way everything is happening.

Anarchy: nobody is in charge. Those who are in charge are incompetent, foolish, distracted.


The Greatness of a country must be measured in her response to her own needs; and her response to the needs of the world.

The Greatness of a Citizenry must be measured in their ability, willingness, sacrifice, desire, compassion when that country fails.

We must do all that we can.

It's easy to blame the looting- POTUS can claim "Zero Tolerance" as though a city absolutely destroyed has suddenly become an elementary school; but this is not reality. The city, the coast has been shredded, coupled, bent over- and our country is begining to learn that, given constant crises, given the choice of war and the negligence and lack of foresight, that there are severe costs. This is not easy. We can't do it all. We must choose what we can do.

Right now, our government is choosing incorrectly.

I wish I knew what could be done- we're tied down too much. And it's clear that the cost has been huge, desparate, brutal and confused. This is our country's desperation and confused agony:

"Hospitals are trying to evacuate," said Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Cheri Ben-Iesan, spokesman at the city emergency operations center. "At every one of them, there are reports that as the helicopters come in people are shooting at them. There are people just taking pot shots at police and at helicopters, telling them, 'You better come get my family."'

Rescue us- we'll fire upon you until you do.
