A More Difficult Task

The Right has circulated this idea in the blogosphere that somehow the Plame incident is an irrelevent footnote, that it has little effect on US intelligence and intelligence capabilities. Now, 11 CIA agents have gone official and have pointed out that this assessment is naive and foolhardy. The fact is, the complacency of the Right in this case is a dangerous precedent. While they laud Karl Rove for saying that Liberals cowed in the face of the War on Terror, they also support the very betrayal of the sanctity of that war, putting not only one agent at risk, but an entire ability for the CIA to effectively gain and maintain that intelligence. It, simply, shows that the Right is always willing to discard that which they also try to own politically.
